Dieser Tage widme ich viel Zeit meinen Hobbies. Ich bin froh, dass ich welche habe, denn so ist es mir ohne Schule und Hausarbeit wirklich nie langweilig. Ich, die Sofaqueen, habe wirklich viele Möglichkeiten, mir die Zeit zu vertreiben.
Kurzzeitig dachte ich daran, ein neues Buch zu schreiben, aber diese Idee habe ich schnell wieder verworfen, weil ich einfach grässliche Nackenverspannungen und Rückenprobleme bekomme, wenn ich zu lange am Computer sitze. Vom Schreiben habe ich mich aufs Lesen verlegt. Endlich habe ich nämlich Zeit, mir die empfohlenen Bücher zu Gemüte zu führen, die sich auf dem Telefontisch stapeln oder quer in einem unserer vielen Büchergestelle liegen. Dabei ist mir aufgefallen, wie viele Bücher wir besitzen. Natürlich stehen im Treppenhaus meine vier Textura Büchergestelle.
Aber daneben gibt es Bücher in den Zimmern der Jungs, Bücher im Schlafzimmer, Bücher unter der Estrichtreppe, Bücher in der Küche, Bücher im Büro, Bücher im Estrich, Bücher einfach überall. Weisst du, wieviel Bücher stehen …? Nein, ich habe sie nicht gezählt.

We’re mostly getting rid of some sci-fi novels, although there are some How-To’s and cookbooks too. With the advent of the internet, all you have to do is search for plans or recipes and there are too many to count. I’ve kept my favorites though. We also have a ton of textbooks with Ambrose still in school. Almost all of them are going, I hope that they can save someone the cost of buying from the University.
I’ve never read ‚The Loop‘, I’ll see if our library carries it. I know a woman who can speak/read German and she says that the bible in German is better than in English because the words have more or maybe deeper meanings. I love words.

Yes, I’m feeling better, but I am still at home. How do you decide, which books are the best? My absolutly favourite book is The Loop by Nicholas Evans, that I possess in German and English. I will never give them away. I read it once a year and I’m reading it for the tenth time (On page 121 right now). Although I loved the German translation, the English original is even more poetic. Wonderful language.

You’ve been Busy! I love seeing spring in Switzerland, different and yet the same.
We have a lot of books too. Ambrose and I have been going through them and getting rid of some of them; but of course keeping the best ones.
